In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii, there seems to be some confusion about diving underwater in the game. A lot of people assume that you can dive underwater from the beginning of the game, but you can’t.
In order to dive underwater, you need an item called the Water Dragon Scale, which is obtained about half way through the story.
