In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the Nintendo 3DS, you can unlock Fire Arrows arrows which do more damage than regular arrows and catch mobs on fire. You can also light torches and such with them.
To unlock Fire Arrows, you just need to shoot an arrow at the sun after completing the Water Temple.
You can gain early access to the Fire Arrows at Lake Hylia by shooting an arrow at the sun while it is rising, which will make them appear on a platform with two pillars near the water temple. Swim to the platform, or summon Pierre with the Scarecrow Song and use the Longshot to grab it.
