Dead Rising 4 has added Exo Suits to the game, which are a new addition to the game we haven’t seen in previous versions.
Exo Suits are powerful suits of armor that have a limited duration and allow you to access specific areas you can’t reach normally, and dig to find hidden items around the map.
Exo Suits only last for two minutes, so you have to use them wisely. They aren’t super rare, but they are sprinkled around in various locations for your destructive pleasure.
How to Unlock the Exo Suit
You don’t start out the game with access to an Exo Suit, that would be just plain silly after all.
To unlock access to the Exo Suit in Dead Rising 4, you simply need to follow the story until the point where you leave Willamette Memorial Megaplex and head to Old Town, which is at the end of Case 1.
Once you put on your first Exo Suit, you’ll unlock it and you’ll be able to see a cache marker on your map simply called Exo Suit wherever they are located. At this point you’ll even find them back in Willamette Memorial Megaplex.
Once unlocked, you’ll find Exo Suits in common areas laying on the ground, tucked away in various hard to reach locations, and in shipping containers that may even be guarded by Obscuris mercenaries.
How to Use the Exo Suit
Using an Exo Suit is as simple as clicking on it in game. Once you don the Exo Suit, you’ll have two minutes to rain down destruction on all the zombies you can, or high tail it to the nearest dig spot or locked area that only the Exo Suit can access.
Here are some tips however to maximize your Exo Suit usage:
Run Forrest, Run!: You have unlimited stamina when using an Exo Suit, so don’t dilly dally, just run like hell as long as possible.
Pick Up Stuff: When you’re in an Exo Suit, you’ll have access to ammo crates and various other random things that will make the suit stronger like cannons, miniguns, flamethrowers, all sorts of awesome crap! Even some of the zany combo weapons can be used while wearing the Exo Suit, so experimentation can be pretty fun.
Plan Accordingly: Have something in mind that you need to use the suit for? Scout around and plan accordingly, since two minutes isn’t a ton of time, planning ahead can save you in a pinch.
Watch That Meter: Like I said, you only have two minutes, so keep an eye on that charge meter and make sure you’re somewhere safe when it runs out. Some story missions have unlimited charge for the Exo Suit, and you’ll notice this by purple lights on your back. If the lights are purple, go to town on some zombies!
