In Dead Rising 4 there is a new dig mechanic that we haven’t seen in previous versions. You’ll find hidden combo weapon blueprints buried all around the map, and they’re not marked either, so you’ll have to find them the good old fashioned way (or via google of course.)
The first step to digging is by finding a dig spot via the Spectrum Analyzer on your phone. When you scan using the Spectrum Analyzer, dig spots are one of the various things that will be highlighted in the search radius. You can’t just dig with normal hands though, you’re not strong enough for that.. but that can be fixed easily enough.
The other main requirement for digging is having access to an Exo Suit. Exo Suits make you stronger, and allow you to dig. You only have a few minutes in an Exo Suit however, so you need to use that time wisely.
Luckily, most dig spots will typically have an Exo Suit somewhere close by. If you find a dig spot, you just need to look around and you’ll probably find an Exo Suit within a reasonable distance. Don’t forget that you have unlimited stamina when in an Exo Suit, so you can run back full speed to access the dig site.
Once you reach a dig spot with the Exo Suit, dig up that sweet loot and enjoy your sweet new combo weapon blueprint or vehicle weapon blueprint.
