The Vortex Pinnacle is a new dungeon in the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft. Personally, I think it’s one of the easiest dungeons to run through, even on Heroic. There are only three bosses however, so you don’t get as many Justice points when running through it.
Some of the trash pulls are some of the hardest fights in the instance honestly, so make sure to use some Crowd Control to help with the process.
Here are the bosses in order, and some strategies to help you beat them.

Grand Vizier Ertan
Surrounds himself with a shield of vortexes that will go out for a few seconds and then contract again, then repeat. They don’t do a whole lot of damage though even on Heroic, and dps and healers can strafe left and right pretty easily to avoid them, but they’re not a very big threat and barely worth moving away from. The rest is pretty much a tank & spank fight, he’ll go down pretty easily.
Altairus
Have the tank direct his front away from the group as he casts Chilling Breath frontal AoE. Depending on where you stand around him, you with either gain an Upwind buff or a Downwind debuff, so make sure to stay in the Upwind buff or else you will get a large haste debuff if you’re sitting Downwind. He switches the air current periodically, so just wait for it to be announced and move from side to side as necessary. This is a fairly easy fight.
Asaad
Stay spread out to keep Chain Lightning from jumping to each party member. He casts a strong spell called Supremacy of the Storm, but it can be negated completely by standing within the Unstable Grounding Field which forms a triangle on the ground. On Heroic, he casts a spell called Static Cling which will root everyone for 18 seconds but it can be dispelled so make sure it’s dispelled quickly so the group can get into the Unstable Grounding Field in time. Stay out of the Grounding Fields which will redirect any spell cast on targets within it.
