The Google Nexus 7 tablet by Asus is finally out, and they’re blasting off of shelves faster than they can be stocked.
I’m not surprised, since it pretty much kills the competition, at the 7 inch tablet size anyway. Personally I like it better than the iPad as well, but i’m also a Google guy mostly.
I preordered mine from the Google Play website, so I was able to snag a 16 gig at launch which has shown the greatest demand so far. If you’re interested in the 8 gig version to save a few bucks if you don’t need as much space, those have been the easiest to find.
Amazon doesn’t carry the Nexus 7 yet, but they do have some decent carrying cases, some bluetooth keyboards, and screen protectors.
If you want to check around your local stores, here is a list of stores I’ve heard may carry it: GameStop, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Staples, Office Depot.
They’re selling really fast, so you may want to call and see if these stores currently have any in stock, or what day their trucks come in to possibly get some.
If the website is out of stock and you would rather not drive or call around searching your local brick and mortar stores, you can sign up to receive an email when they are stocked again. If I were you, that’s probably what I would do.
If you have seen the Google Nexus 7 in stock at any stores not listed here, please leave them in the comments.
