Zygarde is a new Legendary pokemon that appears in both Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
Zygarde is a strong Dragon and Ground type pokemon, and is level 70 when you fight it, so bring your strong pokemon to this fight.
What You’ll Need
First of all, you can’t catch Zygarde until after you’ve beaten the Elite Four and become the Pokemon Champion.
You’ll probably want to bring a bunch of Dusk balls since you’ll be fighting Zygarde inside of a cave. Dusk balls will give you 3.5x chance over regular pokeballs inside of a cave.
If you’re under leveled then it will be a long fight, so bring some Timer Balls as well to get a max of 4x catch chance later in the fight.
Bring a Quick Ball or two, as you have a chance to catch him right off the bat with one.
Zygarde is a Dragon/Ground type, so bring your Ice and Flying types to help with the fight. A pokemon with False Swipe might help as well.
Where to Find Zygarde
To find Zygarde, travel to Couriway Town and go north to Route 18.
You’ll see a cave here with some tracks leading into it, which is Terminus Cave.
This is a long, somewhat confusing cave, and you may have been here before Zygarde appeared.
It’s a little too much info to guide you through the cave, but I assure you Zygarde is found in here now. You’ll also find some rare items hidden in the cave on your way, so it’s worth some exploring.
Catching Zygarde
Zygarde is a static spawn, so you’ll find it hidden deep in the cave. Make sure you save before you begin the fight.
First try a Quick Ball right off the bat to see if you have any luck. If that doesn’t work, restore your game a few times and keep trying, otherwise you’ll have to fight it.
The moves that Zygarde has are Camouflage, Crunch, Dragon Pulse, and Earthquake, with Earthquake being his most dangerous attack where a Flying type will help if you’re not over-leveled.
Use a pokemon with False Swipe if you have one, otherwise just pummel it down to 1 hp and start throwing out your Dusk Balls until you catch it.
If you’re under-leveled and it’s been a long fight, start throwing out your Timer Balls for a slightly higher catch chance.
