Craig can be found inside the Dino’s mouth guarding the town of Novac after 9 pm. You must complete the “One For My Baby” quest that he gives you before you can recruit him. Craig Boone has a skill called Spotter which automatically marks hostile targets in the area, and pairs very well with ED-E’s Enhanced Sensors skill. He is an excellent marksman, and can usually kill enemies before you even see them. After you complete Craig’s first quest, he will receive the 1st Recon Beret upgrade, which gives you +1 Perception and +5% Critical Chance. ED-E is a prototype eyebot that can be found in Primm. You’ll need either a skill of 55 in Science, 65 in Repair, or you’ll just need to find all of the parts in order to repair ED-E and recruit it. You can’t have ED-E and Rex as companions at the same time. ED-E has a skill called Enhanced Sensors which allow you to detect enemies at an increased range, and enemies will appear on the compass and can be targeted in VATS even while cloaked. This works very well with the Spotter perk from Craig Boone. You’ll get to choose between Enhanced armor or Enhanced Weapons when you complete ED-E’s quest.
Lily Bowen
Lily can be found in Jacobstown. Talk to Dr. Henry and complete the quest “Guess Who I Saw Today” in order to recruit Lily. Lily has a skill called Stealth Girl which improves the duration of Stealth Boys by 200%, and all sneak attack crits do an additional 10% damage.

You just need to talk to him in order to recruit him at that point. Raul has a skill called Regular Maintenance which slows down the degradation of weapons and armor. For upgrades, you’ll be able to choose between Vaquero which increases combat ability, or Full Maintenance which slows down the degradation of weapons and armor by 75%.
Rex
Rex is a cyberdog and can be found inside The King’s School of Impersonation in Freeside. You will either need to pay 500 caps or have a 60 Speech skill level to get past the door guard. If you choose to pay the 500 caps, you get them back when you talk to The King. You must complete the “G.I. Blues” quest given from The King, and then the “Nothin’ But A Hound Dog” quest in order to recruit Rex. You can’t have Rex and ED-E as companions at the same time. Rex has a skill called Search and Mark which allows you to find unequipped ammo, chems, and firearms within a short distance, as well as other hidden items like hollow rocks and safes when you are using the binoculars.
Veronica Santangelo
Veronica can be found in the 188 Trading Post near the Slop & Stop Shop. Veronica will ask you about the Brotherhood of Steel, so answer positively about them and she’ll join you. Veronica has a skill called Scribe Assistant which allows you to craft workbench items by speaking to her. She is also proficient in close combat.
