Duke Nukem Forever: How to Beat the First Boss (Cycloid)

June 27, 2011 Posted by DoubleDizle PC, PS3, XBox 360

In Duke Nukem Forever for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, the first boss (Cycloid) is a giant mech with some powerful moves.

The key to this fight is to keep some good distance from him so you can avoid his attacks fairly easily. At first he’ll basically stay in the center of the field firing on you. Strafe around him at a distance, sticking about as far as the sideline of the field. Once you run out of ammo, you’ll see a helicopter drop a flare, so run to it to get more ammo.

At a certain point he’ll change up his attacks and start doing a charge type attack, and he’ll start shooting an electric charge on the ground toward you. These moves are very easy to avoid with enough distance between you.

Keep up your constant barrage on him while strafing, and keep your distance to avoid his attacks easily, and he should go down without much problem.

Once he collapses, walk up to him and rip out the tubes on his back, and kick a field goal with the eyeball. Congrats, you have now beaten Cycloid.
