Hello, fellow Guardians! Are you in need of an upgrade for your weapons or armor? If so, the Vanguard vendors are a great way to get them. The only problem is you need to get those pesky Vanguard Marks to do so.
There are a few things you’ll need to know in order to get those marks faster and boost your character.
Earning Vanguard Marks
You will begin to earn Vanguard Marks once you reach level 18, however there is a cap of earning 100 marks per week, and an inventory limit of 200 (you should never really bank that many up anyway).
There are two main ways to get Vanguard Marks.
You can get the most marks by completing Public Events with a 3 gold star rating. Public Events seem a little random at first, but they actually show up at timed increments. The best place to farm Public Events is on the Earth patrol in the Cosmodrome. You’ll typically see high level characters hanging out here, and this is probably why. I found this Destiny Public Event tracking site, which has been a god send for farming Public Events.
The other primary way to grind marks is by running strikes. You get less marks this way, but it can break the monotony of running Public Events over and over.
You can’t do much with your Vanguard Marks without Vanguard reputation however. Check out my Vanguard Reputation guide for help with farming Vanguard rep.
