The Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim: How to Get Married

November 14, 2011 Posted by DoubleDizle PC, PS3, XBox 360

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, the process for getting married is fairly straight to the point.

You may have noticed in your adventures that some people seem to flirt with you, but no matter what you can’t open a dialogue with them for any kind of dating. That’s because you’re not wearing the right jewelry. It turns out that there is literally a “magic” necklace that you must wear to open up marital conversations.

The name of said necklace is the Amulet of Mara. This amulet can only be purchased from one vendor named Maramal, located in the “Bee and Barb” inn in Riften.

Speak to Maramal, and ask to be enlightened. You’ll talk about marriage, and once that is done you’ll be able to purchase the Amulet of Mara from her for around 200 gold.

Wearing the necklace, try to find those flirtatious individuals again and you should see some new dialogue. Once you’ve gone through this short and sweet process, you’ll head back to Maramal to schedule the wedding.

Choose wisely, as some spouses have some slight benefits over others. If you choose a spouse that makes decent money, like a shop owner for example, they can bring you gold from time to time.
