Temple Run 2: Can You Jump Off the Rope?

I’ve seen this question on a lot of answer sites and forums, people asking how to jump off of the rope and onto that elusive ledge that flies by you as your sliding.

So can you jump from the rope to reach this ledge?

Unfortunately you can’t, and as far as I can tell it’s just for looks. I’m guessing that they didn’t anticipate so many people trying to do it, either that or they made it a cruel joke to get us to fall for it.
