Sleeping Dogs: How to Hack

November 4, 2012 Posted by DoubleDizle PC, PS3, XBox 360

In Sleeping Dogs, you can hack some electronic equipment like security systems and such.

Hacking in this game is basically just a simple numbers game, that you can easily manipulate instead of making random guesses.

The game tells you if a number is right or not, and also tells you if it’s in the right position or not. So the basic strategy is to just guess all numbers in order, and narrow it down quickly.

When a number is correct and in the right position, it will be green. When a number is part of the code but not in the right position, it will be yellow. Wrong numbers will be red. You use this to shuffle the numbers around until you get it right.

How to Hack, Breaking the Code

Green = correct number, correct position
Yellow = correct number, incorrect position
Red = incorrect number

When you begin the hack, put in 1 2 3 4. Any numbers that come up as green, those are correct and you leave those in place. Any yellow numbers, that means you have the number right but it’s in the wrong position, so we’ll use it again next attempt in a different position. Red numbers are incorrect entirely, so we scratch those immediately.

So let’s use the example of  1 2 3 4 for our attempt. We plug those numbers in and we get 1 2 3 4. We know that 2 is a good number, but it’s in the wrong place. 1, 3, and 4 are wrong entlrey.

Next attempt, use any good numbers, and the next sequential numbers, so we try 2 5 6 7.

Two is good, drop five, move the dix, keep the seven add the next number, so 2 6 8 7.

Congrats, you hacked it!

You can also start at the top and go backwards, so 9 8 7 6 and work down.
