In Mass Effect 3 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, you’ll notice fairly quickly that in most multiplayer games, Gold ranked matches can be rough, especially in randoms.
I have found some tips that may help you farm Gold matches with ease though, so let’s get started.
Tips to Beat Gold Matches
First off, you need to try to find some decent people to play with. At least two other competent people will suffice, but having three is the best obviously. Sorry guys, but you’re probably rarely going to have much luck finishing a gold match in a random group, if ever.
If you don’t have anyone to play with, try to friend any of the decent players you find in random groups. Send them a message, let them know you’re a good player, tell them you’re interested in making some Gold match runs.
Once you have a decent group of at least two other skilled players, there are a few things you’re going to need. The first thing is a Quarian Infiltrator, which is an uncommon character card. With enough recruit and veteran packs, you should come across one of these fairly easily. Engineers are nice to have as well for a backup. Either way, you’re going to want to level these up to at least level 10 or so.
Your basic setup for your group will be two Quarian Infiltrators, and two of whatever else if they’re good at playing their class. Two good Engineers with high levels of Energy Drain and Incinerate work very nice though.
What you’ll be doing is setting the enemies to be Geth, so that the Quarian Infiltrators can sabotage them and make them fight each other. The map isn’t as important, since each map typically has at least one good defensive position.
You’ll be surprised at first how much easier Gold matches get when you’re setup this way, and you’ll be farming them in no time.
Leave me some comments below with a group setup that has worked for you.
**Update: Sabotage has been nerfed, making this much more difficult. Leave comments if you have new strategies for beating gold matches.
