In DragonVale for the iPhone and iPad, leveling up quickly is all about getting as much XP as you can, as quickly as possible.
Luckily there are many ways to get XP in the game, so what are the best ways to get XP in DragonVale?
Level Up By Finishing Goals
Focusing on goals early in the game is a quick way to jump start the leveling process. If you check out the goals, you’ll see all sorts of goals to complete that will give you dragoncash, and XP. Some of the best XP from goals is from breeding and hatching hybrid dragons.
Level Up From Buying Decorations
If you have some extra cash to spend, you can get a fair amount of XP from buying decorations. Look for decorations that give you 1 XP for every 1 dragoncash you spend. For example, the plant habitat costs 100 dragoncash, and gives you 100 XP when you purchase it. Sell it back for 50 dragoncash, and buy again for another 100 XP.
Level Up From Breeding Dragons
This one is kind of obvious, but what kind of dragons you breed is important for this. Hybrid dragons typically provide the best XP for breeding, so check out my dragon breeding guide for combinations you haven’t completed yet. You’ll also be completing some of the goals as well when you breed them.
Level Up From Growing Treats
Growing treats at the treat farms gives you XP, and you get XP for your dragon as well when you feed them to them. You should always be growing treats at your treat farm.
Level Up Through The Colosseum
Winning a gold medal in the Colosseum can get you a ton of XP, and coins as well. Watch out for Colosseum events, and put your best dragon in the event for the type of event it is. Getting a gold in the Colosseum can give you over 1 million XP, so even if your dragon isn’t earning dragoncash while they’re in the event, it’s well worth the wait.
