If you’re brand new to the Diablo series, then you may need some tips for attacking in Diablo 3 for the PC.
First off, left clicking is used for attacking and for moving. There is a separate move button that you can assign, but you can’t disable the “all in one” left click button, you can only reassign it to an alternate button if you’d like.
That is why using Shift is extremely important. If you hold shift while left clicking, it will keep you from moving and will attack in the direction you click. This is extremely important for range characters.
There isn’t a real “auto attack” button in Diablo 3, however I do have an article that will show you the closest thing to an auto attack there is in the game.
