Borderlands 2: How to Find Vermivorous the Invincible

October 25, 2012 Posted by DoubleDizle PC, PS3, XBox 360

If you’re looking for Vermivorous the Invincible in Borderlands 2, then you’re in for a nice little ride, pokemon style.

Vermivorous the Invincible isn’t a regular mob that you just encounter and kill, you have to get a varkid to “evolve” step by step, until it eventually turns into the “final form” which is Vermivorous the Invincible.

Here are the steps that varkids can evolve:

Larval Varkid ->Adult Varkid ->Badass Varkid ->Super Badass Varkid ->Ultimate Badass Varkid ->Vermivorous the Invincible

Now in order for this to work, you pretty much need to be at level 50, so that the varkids you’re working with are level 51. I don’t think this will work with any varkids lower than level 51, but if you get it to work please leave me a comment below.

Also take note that you don’t necessarily need to start out with a Larval Varkid. You can find Badass Varkids in the wild, so if you can find one then you’ll skip a couple steps.

Where and How to Evolve Varkids

You’ll find varkids either in Tundra Express, or Caustic Caverns. I’m sure you are familiar with Tundra Express, but if you never checked out Caustic Caverns, it’s in Sanctuary Hole, which is the hole that Sanctuary left behind when it flew up in to the sky. Fighting your way down through Sanctuary Hole will bring you to Caustic Caverns.

Whatever area you choose, look for a level 51 Larval Varkid, Adult Varkid, or Badass Varkid. Shoot them to get their life down (don’t kill them obviously) and run them around until they get into one of the pods, which will make them morph into the next step.

You keep doing this until you get them up to an Ultimate Badass Varkid. Once you get this evolution, you need to lure him around other creatures for him to eat, so he will evolve into Vermivorous the Invincible.

Sometimes you don’t even need to lure him, because he might just fly off looking for creatures to eat, evolve, and then come back to rip your ass off.

Vermivorous has a chance to drop legendary loot, and a different head item for each class as well.
