In Bioshock: Infinite for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, there is a new mode that you can unlock for you hardcore gamers out there.
I say that because 1999 mode isn’t for the weak of heart. This mode will test everything you have.
1999 mode is more than just a difficulty setting like in most games, where your health is decreased and enemies hit harder. 1999 mode takes this further and makes resources more limited, specializations a lot more important, and the phrase “save early, save often” absolutely vital.
There are two different ways to unlock 1999 mode. You can either beat the game at least once on any difficulty, or you can use the Konami code at the main menu. If you’re too young to know what the Konami code is (seriously, even my kids know this one) you press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A at the main menu. This code works on the PC and Xbox 360. For the PS3 version you’ll press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Circle, X.
Strap in and hold on tight, because you’re in for a bumpy ride.
Did you miss the pre-order window for Bioshock: Infinite? If you did, or if you just want some of the exclusive pre-order goodies from a different store, you can actually buy some of the Bioshock: Infinite pre-order DLC on Ebay from people that are selling their codes.
