The Homebrew channel on the Wii can allow you to play burned backups of your games, or backed up copies on your usb drive, but how do you get the homebrew channel on the Wii in order to do this?
Well, there is an easy way and a hard way. The hard way requires you to physically mod your Wii with a new chip. I don’t know about you, but I’m not willing to do this and risk bricking my Wii. If you don’t know what bricking means, it literally means turning your electronic device into a useless object that no longer works.. in turn, making it about as useful as a brick.
There are ways that don’t require you to do physical mods, but they can be risky as well, and can require a lot of tech knowledge that everyone doesn’t necessarily have. Honestly when it comes to hacking consoles, I am a noob as well.
That’s why there are people out there smarter than us that can figure these things out and teach us how to do it. I recently used the this Homebrew kit on my Wii, and I have to say I am now a fan. First of all it was easy, and it didn’t take much time. You basically just copy some files to a dedicated SD Card, put it in the Wii and run it, and you’re good to go.
When you run the software, it gives you options to copy games to the SD Card, and gives you a menu to browse games that have already been backed up.
The kit also comes with a lot of extras, like software to allow your Wii to play DVD’s. The Wii does have a DVD reader in it after all, so I still don’t really understand why Nintendo didn’t allow the Wii to play DVD movies, but that’s an argument for another day. It also comes with software that will allow you to play roms on the Wii from previous consoles, like Sega Genesis, N64, Super Nintendo, etc.
Don’t risk turning your Wii into an expensive brick, let the experts help you. Check out the Homebrew kit today and start playing your backups in minutes.
