In Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii, there is a way to get an unlimited amount of DK Coins toward the beginning of the game with a little bit of practice and patience.
In World 2-2 Sloppy Sands, look for the first checkpoint in the level. A little after the checkpoint, you’ll see an area with a downward slope, then two squid cannons below with a platform above.
The key here is to get as many bounces as you can on the squids without touching the ground. The best way to do this is to super bounce off of the squids by pressing up and jump when you land on a squid, then use Diddy Kong’s jet pack to float as long as possible before bouncing on another one.
To get as many coins as possible here, start off near the downward slope and wait for a squid from the top launcher to reach you, then super bounce off of it and float to the next one. You’ll start to get closer to the cannons, so you’ll have to time your bounces just right so you can land on a squid from the lower cannon before it hits the barrier, and then back up to a squid from the higher cannon, and back down again, etc.
If you can keep super bouncing from the lower squid to the higher squid, you’ll eventually stop getting DK Coins and start getting Balloons instead. You can’t maintain this forever, because you can only float so long, so you’ll eventually get too close to the cannons and have to start over. Once you’re too close to the cannons, go back and start the process again for as many DK Coins and Balloons as you need.
