Racing is honestly the single best way to rank up fast in GTA Online.
It’s fairly important to win a race every now and again though, so naturally it’s important to know the best cars in each class.
This is a list of the best cars in each class (at least in my opinion with my experiences in about 200 races).
Some of you may disagree with these, which is cool. If you have suggestions for a better car in a category, please leave me a comment so I can test it out.
I also have a theory that there is at least one hidden category of “weight” or possibly “aerodynamics” on vehicles that effects overall performance. I see no other way to explain the fact that some vehicles can be consistently faster on the same high speed track with equal or lesser stats than another. Either that, or the stats are skewed a bit, and the bar in the game doesn’t always reflect exact stats of the vehicle.
Super Class
Truffade Adder
Speed: 8.6 – Brake: 3.3 – Accel: 8 – Handling: 7.6
The car that needs very little introduction. It looks like a Bugatti Veyron, and is also the most expensive car in the game at a cool $1M price tag. Some people will argue that the Entity is better, but in my experience, at least in your typical balls to the wall race, the Adder has a slight advantage, even if very small.
The Entity might have a very slight edge in your more intricate tracks, but I still think I can beat most Entity owners, even on those courses. I’m going to test this theory though.
Overflod Entity XF
Speed: 8.3 – Brake: 3 – Accel: 8.3 – Handling: 8.3
Which leads me to my second pick in the Super class, the Overflod Entity XF. I put it on here simply because it’s just barely beat out by the Adder. It’s also a bit cheaper at $795k, so you can put an extra $200k right into upgrades. Watch out for Adders with the same upgrades however, they’ll likely beat you if they’re good drivers.
Sports Class
Obey 9F
Speed: 8.3 – Brake: 3.3 – Accel: 8.3 – Handling: 7.7
The Obey 9F wasn’t originally my first pick. It’s kind of underrated for some reason, and on paper it doesn’t look like it can keep up with the Carbonizzare, but it can do more than keep up, I assure you that.
I’ve done several tests with this car lately, and it beats my Carbonizzare hands down every time, not by a small margin either. Plus it’s just a sick looking car!
 Grotti Carbonizzare
Speed: 8.5 – Brake: 2.7 – Accel: 8.8 – Handling: 7.2
The Grotti Carbonizzare was originally my first pick for best Sports car, and on paper it looks like it is, but my Obey 9F beats the Carbon on every test I’ve ran with it. Sometimes it’s not by much, other times it’s by quite a bit.
It’s still a fast car though, and since a lot of people underrate the Obey 9F, you won’t typically race against it a lot, meaning you can still win a lot of races with the Carbonizzare.
Motorcycle Class
Dinka Akuma
Speed: 7.5 – Brake: 4 – Accel: 10 – Handling: 6.5
A lot of people will argue that the Bati 801 is faster than the Akuma, and on paper the 801 does have a slight edge on top end speed, but the Akuma has a 10 in acceleration, which is 2.5 points better than the Bati 801.
Acceleration apparently wins in this category, because even in high speed races, I can’t get anywhere close to the times my Akuma sets with my Bati 801. Trust me, the Akuma is where it’s at!
Sports Classic Class
Pegassi Monroe
Speed: 8 – Brake: 2 – Accel: 7 – Handling: 6.5
Honestly I haven’t tested the Monroe enough personally, but what I do know is that I typically use the Z-Type, and get beat a lot by the Monroe, which tells me it’s a bit better. I’ll be working with this one more in the future.
Muscle Class
Bravado Gauntlet
Speed: 8 – Brake: 3 – Accel: 7.5 – Handling: 7.5
I haven’t had enough time to test this one thoroughly yet, but I will soon and I’ll report back. So far I’ve won several races with it, though usually it’s a fairly narrow win.
SUV Class
Vapid Radius
Speed: 7.5 – Brake: 2.5 – Accel: 5 – Handling: 7
I need more testing with this class, but I’ve won a ton of races with my fully modded Radius. Some people claim that a fully modded Baller will beat it, but I haven’t tested this theory yet.
Gallivanter Baller
Speed: 7 – Brake: 2 – Accel: 7 – Handling: 6
It kinda looks like a big ol’ beast, but it’s pretty fast and it handles well. I need to do some more tests to see if it beats my Radius, so for now it’s ranked as my #2 SUV pick.
Compact Class
Weeny Issi
Speed: 7 – Brake: 2 – Accel: 6 – Handling: 6.5
What’s not to love about the Mini Cooper look-a-like? Some people rate the Blista a bit higher, but in my tests they run about neck and neck, and it makes sense since they have the exact same base stats. Since I like the looks of the Issi better, I put it as my #1 Compact.
Dinka Blista
Speed: 7 – Brake: 2 – Accel: 6 – Handling: 6.5
Kinda looks like a stylish Prius doesn’t it? Some people rank it higher than the Issi, but they’re pretty close in all of my tests.
Sedan Class
Cheval Fugitive
Speed: 8 – Brake: 3 – Accel: 5 – Handling: 7.5
There is a lot of competition in this class, and a lot of the cars have very close, if not the exact same stats. I have some more testing to do in this category, but this is what I’m going with for now. Other comparables include: Intruder, Tailgater, Asterope, and the Schafter
Coupe Class
Dewbauchee Exemplar
Speed: 8 – Brake: 3 – Accel: 6.5 – Handling: 8
I haven’t raced with coupes very often, so I don’t have much data on this one. When I have though, this one did pretty well for me, and on paper it looks to be the best. Hopefully I’ll have more data soon. The comparables seem to be the Felon, and the F620.
Off-Road Class
BF Injection
Speed: 7.5 – Brake: 2 – Accel: 6 – Handling: 5.5
I haven’t done a lot of races with off-road vehicles, but the BF Injection looks to be the best on paper. I’ve seen a lot of people do well with the Mesa as well, but I think that was a customized Mesa against my stock Injection, so I need more testing. The Dune Buggy is also a decent pick in Stock races.
