The Evolution of the First Person Shooter

November 19, 2012 Posted by DoubleDizle Blog

A friend sent me this infographic recently, and it brought back some memories of my first experience with first person shooters.. the original Wolfenstein.

I first played Wolfenstein in grade school on my teachers computer. If we got done with all of our work we could use his computer, and you know I was flying through my work to get it done so I could get a few minutes on Wolfenstein. Going to the next class was the worst thing back then. Who wanted to learn when you could blow the bits out of Nazis?

FPS games have come a long way since then. Now you have kids out there wanting to be the next Major League Gamer. I never thought it would come so far when I was a kid, that’s for sure.
